One thing that I LOVE to do is shop! I find fashion as an awesome way to express myself. I love colors, textures, and patterns that tell a story with what I'm wearing. However, I do think about the imprint shopping has on earth. A lot of waste from fast fashion pollutes our earth, and we have the power to change that!
Thred Up reached out to me over the summer and asked me to check out their new store location. They have three new locations in the Bay Area: Walnut Creek, Los Gatos, and Burlingame. I check out the Burlingame location.
Originally, Thred Up provided bags to it's customer. As a customer, you'd fill up the bag with clothes, accessories, or shoes that you want to get rid of and send it back to them. Then Thred Up would choose the items they could resell, send you some cash for those items, and you'd have option of having the other things you gave sent back to you or they would consciously recycle them. Thred Up actually still does this, and I think it's an awesome and convenient way to clean out your closet, make some cash, and recycle consciously.
Now they have a new mission, which is to show people through their in person stores that buying second hand can be just as fashionable, fun, and can save you money!
I found myself three solid pieces of clothes and the cutest pair of pom-pom tennis shoes! All of these products are so gently worn, and I saved so much money by buying second hand. Their staff was so sweet too! They definitely know how to give great, personable customer service!
I love how Thred Up makes it easy for me to do good for the world and myself! Have you used Thred Up before or gone to any of their new locations? Let me know in the comments!
