As most of you know already, traveling is a HUGE passion of mine. I try to go somewhere new at least once a year, and this year Dom and I made our way to Thailand!
We took about two weeks and explored all around the country. We started in Bangkok and experienced the bustling by mostly walking around and taking a canal ride to one of their popular water markets. This city never sleeps! We even got foot massages around 11pm one of the nights! Bangkok has some of the most famous temples, so we took some time to check those out. I LOVE the vibrant colors that cover the insides of these temples.
Next we headed up North to Chiang Mai. It was a little bit cooler there, which was a nice change since Bangkok was so humid! One of the best things we did was go to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. They are all about caring for the elephants in a way that's ethical and respectable. No riding on them! We got to bath them in the mud bath, feed them bananas by hand, and exfoliate them with a home made vitamin ball. The elephants were so affectionate and loving. They were like giant puppies! I loved every minute of it!
Dom and I also said that for at least one day we would surprise the other person with a fun planned activity! Funny enough, we both planned a cooking class for each other! 😂 Our first cooking class was the one I planned in Chiang Mai at the the Thai Cookery School. My friend hah recommended it and the experience was awesome! We ate and made about five dishes! SO FULL! But I left with a very happy belly!
Another major highlight in Chiang Mai was the night market! It's literally streets and streets of vendors selling all sorts of things! I'll admit, I went a little crazy, but I got a beautiful yoga mat carrier and purse that I use all the time. This is also where we bought most of our gifts for our family and friends! We loved it!
Then we headed to the South and spent time in Phuket and Ko Phi Phi. We had our second cooking class of the trip, which Dom planned for me. Again the food was so amazing and left completely stuffed!
Ko Phi Phi and the surrounding islands are like little pieces of paradise. The water is so clear. I've never seen water that clear in my life! These were days spent on the beach. Reading my books and sipping cocktails-- my dream to do every day!
One day we took an island hopping adventure that took us to a few different islands including Monkey Island, Maya Beach, the Viking Cave, and Bamboo Island. I literally could've stayed at Bamboo Island forever!
To end our trip we made our way back to Phuket and stayed in a tucked away resort near the beach where we spent most days by our pool at the beach. We even got tattoos there on our last night!
This was such an incredible and memorable trip of a life time! We will definitely be making our way back there! Have you gone to Thailand before? What was your favorite thing to do there?
