My Alt Summit experience was nothing short of awesome! This was my first time going to a conference focused on creativity, and I didn't really know what to expect. I knew I'd meet other creative entrepreneurs and learn about running a business. I also knew that I would have to stretch outside of my comfort zone. Everyday, I put myself out there, and introduced myself to complete strangers-- well strangers who became beautiful friends.
It was in Palm Springs at the very colorful Saguaro, which I've always wanted to go to! I'm definitely glad I was able to make to one of the early sessions where I got to meet Cynthia Spiegel and Tiffany Han. One of the things that they talked about that really hit home to me was fact that not everyone is "my people." I think a lot of us fall into the trap of wanting to make everyone happy, but if I do that, then I won't make anyone happy. I need to focus on me and my people-- the ones who are my fans and love what I do! And I do have to say, I really did meet some of my people at Alt Summit.
Geronimo Balloons- I definitely fanned girled a little when I saw Jihan Zencirli run through the Keynote room was all her crazy balloons attached to her. I HAD to get a picture with them.
As I go through my notes and photos, I'll definitely be sharing more about my experience from this past week. To be honest, I'm still digesting the information and am doing my best to implement the things I learned one small step at a time.
Since we're on the topic of creative learning, have you gone to Alt Summit before or have gone to another creative conference? I'd love to know. :)
